What Are CBD-Derived Capsules?
Welcome back again to the Wonderful Ways to Consume! We are back with our final entry to the series.
If you are new, or if this is the first one you have clicked on, then let me say: CBD stands for cannabidiol and it is one of many naturally-occurring chemical compounds found in the cannabis plant; along with: CBG, CBN, and THC.
As you have probably already guessed, we are referring to capsules filled with hemp and cannabidiol oil.
These kinds of capsules do not contain THC levels above the legal limit, which is .3%. And the CBD capsules come in the regular tablets, soft-gels, and capsules.
So why take a capsule when they are basically filled with the same substance that you find in tinctures?
What are the benefits capsules provide that the other consumption methods do not? Well, as we always do, I’ll answer those two big questions and more!
What Could CBD Capsules Add To My Daily Routine?
There are some healthy benefits for using CBD capsules daily, healthy benefits like making the day go quicker or the night smoother.
To narrow it down better, studies have shown that CBD capsules may help with sleeping, which could lead to better mental support.
These two additional effects are what really separates capsules from the rest. The CBD pills that will boost your energy are made with Caffeine, vitamin C, and B-12.
While, the pills that help improve your sleep are combined with known natural sleep-aids like melatonin with a natural relaxer like CBD.
So, Why Choose CBD Capsules?
Incremental dosing, simplified dosing, however you want to call it. This is the biggest reason why customers choose capsules. What we are referring to is, pre-measured dosage for your daily intake.
Each product will have the dosage for each individual pill labeled on the front of the bottle. Ingredients, percentages, and dosages can be confusing when you buy a product without clear labeling.
See below: How the amount of pills in the bottle is labeled, along with the strength of each capsule.
There is not a current ‘correct’ dose for CBD, there are not yet guidelines for an appropriate amount. There is nothing to be concerned, the reason behind this is primarily because there are no side effects for CBD.
One cannot overdose on the supplement. Also, since it is a supplement, it affects us all differently. What works for me, might not work for you.
This being said, we recommend that you start off with a low dosage first. See how your body reacts to CBD. Start off slow, then work your way up to a higher dosage.
An example of a small dose would be taking one pill a day, then moving on to two pills a day if needed; one in the morning and one in the evening.
Usually, your pills are going to be straight CBD oil and not much else. This is why it is recommended to start with only one pill.
The other benefit for choosing capsules is: taste. Or lack thereof, capsules are pleasantly tasteless! People have been known to complain about the taste of CBD when using tinctures.
By using the capsules you eliminate the poor taste of CBD. This is the reason why experts say to start off using CBD in pill form.
We don’t want your first experience with CBD oil to start off on the wrong foot due to an unfriendly taste, which could result in a negative viewpoint of the supplement.
On taste: it isn’t such a flavor that will force you to gage, but you won’t be pining to come back for more. I cannot best describe the difficulty of CBD’s taste, but a better writer could.
Finally - for this section at least - capsules are convenient. I mean all you need is a glass of water, am I right?
The ease of use does not limit its effectiveness, they work just as well as any other hemp-derived product.
As a society we have normalized taking pills. I mean, can you even think of how many times you have taken an Advill, Ibuprofen, or aspirin?
I believe this is why many people stick with capsules once they start. Also, they are great for routines. We have found that many of our customers have added CPD pills to their daily pill organizer.
What Are The Different Strengths?
Some very important information is found in this section. Capsules can come in: broad spectrum, full spectrum, and isolate.
Broad and Full spectrum is what will provide you with the “entourage effect”. CBD experts believe this is the best way to introduce the supplement to your body.
The entourage effect means that the product will contain the full range of cannabinoids found in hemp and other naturally occurring compounds like: flavonoids, terpenes, fatty acids.
Full Spectrum will have a more complete entourage effect than broad spectrum. The reason? Broad spectrum does not contain THC, it does not include ALL of the cannabinoids.
CBD Isolates are straight CBD, about 99% cannabidiol to be exact. All other cannabinoids have been left aside.
For your consideration: buy full spectrum or broad spectrum capsules. The entourage effect is what really makes CBD shine. It could lead to a more positive reaction on the health of your body.
Are There Any Problems With Hemp-Derived Capsules?
A set-back for capsules is how efficient they are. In order to take effect, they must go through the digestive tract.
That is the long way of saying, they take longer to kick in. And that's about it for any problems facing capsules. As we know, CBD has no reported side-effects, no known major health risks - besides drowsiness and the occasional dry mouth.
The only issues surrounding CBD is choosing what product to buy and where to buy from. It is VERY important to only buy products that are approved.
By who? The US Hemp Authority. They are the leading voice in the Hemp World. It is their mission to make sure hemp-derived products are safe for the consumer.
For this reason, we strongly recommend that you do not buy a product that has not been approved by The US Hemp Authority. And it just so happens… We only sell products that have been approved! Yay!
Well, that ends our adventure for all the different CBD products. The bottom line, you really cannot go wrong with whichever one you end up choosing.
What it all comes down to is, how quick you want to feel the effects and how bad you find the taste to be.
Choosing a vape over a capsule will not bring any additional, or negative, health benefits.
Thank you for following along this month and we’ll SEE-BD You next time!
